Start Saving

Let’s get those savings in gear!

Step 1 - Application Process

You’ll need to know the IBAN (International Bank Account Number) number of your principal bank account, so make sure it’s handy when you’re filling out the form!

  1. Fill in the online application form.
  2. When ready press print.
  3. The website will generate and print the following
    • A letter of instruction – this lists in detail all the next steps. It also includes your Customer ID number and IBAN of your new Izola Saver account.
    • The application form (bank copy) to be signed and sent to Izola Bank.
    • Application form (your copy) which you can keep for your records.
    • If you selected the SEPA direct debit mandate option when you were filling in the application form, you will also print out 2 copies of the SEPA direct debit mandate. These both need to be signed and returned to the bank.
    • Terms and Conditions for Izola Saver for your perusal and reference.
  4. Together with the above forms, you also need to send:
    • A legible copy of your unexpired Identity Card (front and back).
    • An original, recent (less than 6 months old) electricity, water or telephone bill in your name that shows your permanent residential address. We will return this to you once your Application is processed.
  5. Put everything all together and post to this address: Izola Saver Helpdesk, Izola Bank plc, 53/58,East Street, Valletta VLT 1251.

Step 2 - Your first transfer

  1. The letter of instruction you print will provide you with your Customer ID number and IBAN of your new Izola Saver account.
  2. In order to open your Izola Saver Account you need to make the first transfer from your principal bank account to your Izola Saver account. Log on to your principal bank‘s internet banking website to effect this transaction.
  3. We only require a minimum of €25 to open your account, of course you can make your first transfer for more if you so prefer.
  4. Remember you must transfer the money from the bank account number you have provided in the Application Form. If you transfer funds from another account, the transfer will be automatically rejected and the funds returned.

Step 3 - Your account is activated

  1. Once Izola Bank receives and accepts your application form, the accompanying documents and your initial deposit, you will receive an email that contains a link to a first-time login screen.
  2. When you click on the emailed link an activation code is generated and sent to you via SMS on your mobile phone. This will be needed for the next step. So make sure you have your mobile handy.
  3. The page that you land on asks for two inputs: your Customer ID number (which can be found on your letter of instruction) and the activation code which you will receive by SMS.
  4. You then input your Customer ID number and activation code. If these are correct, you are asked to provide a password of your choice and to confirm it. This password must be at least 6 characters in length and contain at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number and one symbol, eg: Abc!23. You are then asked to provide a secret answer to a question that you select. This will be used by us to help identify you should you need to call our helpdesk.
  5. The system displays a successful password creation message.
  6. You are then presented with the normal Izola Saver website login page where you enter your Customer ID and password which you have just created.

Now you are ready to save, save, save!
